CTMH--- It's {almost} Spring Card

Its almost Springtime here and I can't wait.  My flowering pear trees are FULL of the little white flowers already and we have pretty daffodils that have sprouted.  Now if the weather would STAY at 70 degrees I'd be one happy lady!

I created this card with the inspiration of my trees in the front yard.  My son wanted to make a card so while he stamped, this one just kind of evolved.

I stamped the tree first, then the kids on the bench.  It needed some grass below (my daughter helped me with this part).  Then (she helped me) stamp the sun in two colors on the top.  I added the sentiment at the top too.  But being a 6x6 white card, it needed a whole lot more.  I stamped a cloud then cut it out.  Using it as a mask, I sponged Sky ink to create the sky.  I tore some paper and used that as a guide for my landscape sponged in Sweet Leaf ink.  All that was missing was a big yellow button for the sun.

And voila!  While supervising my son's card, I created one of my favorite cards to date!!!!

This card fits perfectly into Heart2Heart's Times 3 challenge- using 3 stamps to create a scene :)
Also linked to the CSIProject- spring theme.

Supplies:
Grown with Love
Childhood Portrait
Over the Rainbow
Springtime
Chocolate, Bamboo, Topiary, Sky, Sunny Yellow, Sunflower, Sweetleaf Inks
Yellow Button

And here's his card:

The night before, my dear friend Jayma was over babysitting the kids and she helped him make a different card for us while we were gone.  So when he was making this card, he picked out his own stamps and his own inks.  I would hand him a block and he'd say "this block is too big mom" and go pick himself out a perfect sized one.  So with some supervision of the inks, he did a pretty good job all on his own!

CTMH- Everything ABC's Blog Hop- E is for Easter

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop! For this hop we will be featuring the letter E. This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their E element will be featured in their post. If you have just hopped onto my blog, you can start at the beginning at Amber's blog ~ Scrapper's Therapy  If you came from Shelly ~ Just One Piece then you're on the right track! E is for EASTER You may recall a few months ago, I posted a couple layouts from the baby album I am making for my niece.... well she's now 3 months old and I only finished through 4 months!  I have some work to do..... Today I created an Easter Layout using THIS layout as my inspiration.  The Chantilly paper pack is perfectly girly and springy!  I cut two strips of the green pattern, then sliced it up to make it look like grass.  Using Art Philosophy, I cut out a bunch of different eggs in 1 1/2", 1 3/4" and ...

CTMH- Washi Tape Card

Do you WASHI???   Washi Tape is one of the new and super trendy products being used.  I'm not afraid to jump on the bandwagon :)  CTMH now has a Slate Polka-Dot Washi Tape (and I HOPE there are lots more to come!!!)  I also have picked up a couple others at Michaels recently. This weeks Color My Heart Color Dare is JUNIPER.  I decided to use Juniper as the accent color for my card today. I used the black banner stamp set from Artiste Kudos , CTMH's Slate Washi Tape , CTMH's Silver Shimmer Trim and a black arrow washi tape.  The sentiment is from Artiste Birthday , stamped in Juniper, then popped on foam tape. A simple card like this, called for some dressing up of the inside too.  I stamped Happy Birthday from Perfect Fit Birthday and added some Slate Washi Tape to the bottom. Head over to Color My Heart to check out the other color dare entries :)
