The Sophia kit from Close To My Heart has jumped in to my All-Time favorite list!!!!  I just adore the pinks and greens, the big florals and the polka dots.  It pairs really well with my daughters room, as it is also pink and green.  I love it sooooo much that I found a beautiful dress for my daughter for Easter, that is a perfect match! I love to go to All Day Crops!  I only get to go a couple times a year, with the family schedule and my own CTMH class schedule.  I always get a ton accomplished!  Here's what I do:  Pack page kits! *Choose photos *Choose sketch or layout to scraplift *Choose papers *Throw in some embellies *Pack a pre-made title or stamps/inks to create one This weekend, I only had time to pack about 8-10 page kits.  Then I brought my pictures and some extra papers to work with.  Luckily the crops I go to are at my local scrapbook store, Pocketful of Treasures, and they have papers there if I need them!  I wish I had packed more of a variety of papers as I was uninspired in the evening.  Total layouts Scrapbooked:  18 Here are a few: This one is from Sketchy Thursdays : I love these "home" chipboard thickers that I found!  They will make great additions to layouts from our new house! When it comes to scrapbooking, traditional (paper, scissors, adhesives etc) is the way for me.  But I'm not afraid to mix in some digital goodness with Studio J ! I wanted to show you an example of BOTH!   Here's my traditional layout.  Created using a sketch from my friend Kari .  I used some of the scraps I have left from the retired Blue Ribbon paper kit.  If you are ever sad that your favorite paper kit is retired.... hope on over to Studio J and it will probably be there for your unlimited use :) Here's my Studio J layout also using Blue Ribbon.  The first page is my calendar page for July and the second is the match to the traditional layout above.  So when they go in my album (eventually), I'll have a traditional layout right next to a Studio J layout.  I bet you no one knows the difference once in the album!   Be sure to check out Studio J 's memberships while you're creating your next Studio J layout!

I participated in an online crop last week with my bestest online friends (love you ASP girls!!!!)  There were some fabulous sketch challenges, scraplift challenges and much much more!  I was able to get quite a few layouts done during the last two weekends thanks to this crop!  Best part--- I was able to use up some of my stash!! I was on vacation this past week, away from my scrap room, away from my paper, inks and stamps, away from reality.  I did however have a wireless internet connection :-)  So I brought my flash drives with me and worked on some Studio J layouts!   I am currently working on creating Calendar Layouts!  Some of my calendar pages will be 2-pagers- one being for the calendar and the matching page to go in the books.  Others will be single layouts, with a completely separate layout created next to it.  Since Studio J only works in 2-page layouts, I am making it work for my single paged calendar pages :) March- Veranda May- Magic Moments Pink Jeep- Magic Moments (right side of May layout) You too could scrapbook ANYWHERE!!!!!!! Zippidee is the 4th and Final Paper pack in the Summer Idea Book that I'm working with. CTMH certainly did NOT disappoint this Summer. All 4 packs (Cherry-O, Splendor, Passages and Zippidee) have been super fun to work with. When I saw Zippidee in the Idea Book, it was used primarily with Disney photos. And of course I have a TON of those from our trip to Disneyland last month. BUT- I also saw a great use for it with T-ball and even 4th of July. See how versatile it can be??!! Here are the scrapbook layouts I created with the Passages Kit of the Month ! I don't often deviate too much from the sketch provided, simply because the sketches are awesome! I thought the Passages papers were perfect for a Father's Day theme! The nice thing about these kits is I had already decided to use these pages for Father's day, so I knew "what kind" of pictures I needed, what size and what orientation. Some call it staging, I call it careful planning ;) Here is my hubby with my darling babies! I think I will have him journal (maybe he'll even write in himself- that would be cool!) For the Close To My Heart Convention last week, I created these layouts for my roomies! I wanted them to have a nice page to put some of their favorite convention photos on (like one of the 4 of us). There is no stamping on this layout (although we did get a stamp set at Convention that would create that logo that I printed out off the Convention website I just LOVE the little lollipop flowers at the bottom of the first page- so easy and yet so cute! Just punch out circles, crumple them to distress, then layer and use a brad or button in the center. Your circles can be different sizes or all the same size, then hand manipulated to whatever shape you desire. Another cool thing I did was created a "suede" look on the bottom of my twilight cardstock on the second page. I did that by rubbing my stamp pad directly onto the paper. I created these two layouts today from my daughter's birthday party! This one is using the Daydream paper pack! And this one uses Life's Delights (retired paper pack)! I just love that you can use the front or back of papers in each kit and pretty much create any color combo you like. I was trying to stick with the pink/green/black/white to go with her party decorations for these layouts and it was pretty easy! R emember that you don't have to "pay to play" with Studio J!
