Artbooking in August- Happy Birthday Tag & Card

Welcome to Week #3 of the Artbooking in August Blog Hop. Last week's artwork was so amazing and this week over 35 creative consultants are at it again!

Their challenge was to create 4 different projects using the Cricut Artbooking cartridge and any CTMH paper pack.  Their mission was to design each of the following:

1. 2 page layout
2. Card
3. Mini Book

4. Home decor or 'giftable' item

They were able to choose what to make and when to post it. AND if they wanted to add stamps to their designs, that was OK.  This week they will add another great design to the challenge and I am anxious to see what everyone has created!

Remember this is a circular blog hop and if you get lost or confused along the way, the list is posted on Adeline's blog here.

Today I have a tag and card that I've created with Cricut Artbooking along with Cricut Artiste.

I started with this:

*Hexagon overlay: Key "Family", 7.5"
*Tag:  key "All star", 2.5" real dial size
*Flower:  Key "D", 3" real dial size
*Leaf:  Key "D", 3/4" real dial size
*Bracket:  Key " ", 2" real dial size
*Pear & Black ink
*Cotton Candy Markers

I was inspired by the canvas I made a few weeks ago, and decided to go with a hexagon background for my tag.  Initially I thought I could use the hexagon overlay as a mask and spray some glimmer mist on the tag to create the background... but paint/reinker mix was not working out and it was bleeding through the overlay- what a mess.  Instead I decided to sponge the ink on, using the overlay as a mask- so much better!  I added a rolled flower and leaf at the bottom, and my sentiment from Heartfelt Birthday Wish

Using some of the same supplies and cuts from Artbooking, I created a card.  I used the gift card cut from Cricut Artiste and Laughing Lola papers.

*Flower:  Key "D", 3" real dial size
*Leaf:  Key "D", 3/4" real dial size
*Bracket:  Key " ", 2" real dial size
*Black Shimmer Trim
*Heartfelt Birthday Wish
*Black ink
*Gypsy Markers

*Laughing Lola papers

The next hopper on our list is Linda's Blog.  I know you'll be inspired by her and the rest of the hoppers!  HAVE FUN!!!

So cute...I love how you used the overlay as a stencil!
I wondered about the spray pen with the overlay. Thanks for letting us know how it worked (or didn't) for you. I love that tag! My favorite colors together. :)

Thanks for the info about sponging a mask instead of spraying it. That's exactly the info I was looking for!

CTMH- Everything ABC's Blog Hop- E is for Easter

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop! For this hop we will be featuring the letter E. This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their E element will be featured in their post. If you have just hopped onto my blog, you can start at the beginning at Amber's blog ~ Scrapper's Therapy  If you came from Shelly ~ Just One Piece then you're on the right track! E is for EASTER You may recall a few months ago, I posted a couple layouts from the baby album I am making for my niece.... well she's now 3 months old and I only finished through 4 months!  I have some work to do..... Today I created an Easter Layout using THIS layout as my inspiration.  The Chantilly paper pack is perfectly girly and springy!  I cut two strips of the green pattern, then sliced it up to make it look like grass.  Using Art Philosophy, I cut out a bunch of different eggs in 1 1/2", 1 3/4" and ...
