Yesterday I showed you how to make a Starburst Card.  Today I want to show you a variation on that same card!

We made these cards in my Dream Pop card workshop.  Basically, the starburst starts along the left edge of the card base, instead of in the center. 

 Here are the steps:
*Cut 1.5" x 5.5" strips of patterned paper (double sided is best).
*Take strip and turn it in your cutter so that it's diagonal.  Line up opposite corners along your cut line and CUT.  Now you have 2 diagonal strips

*Starting at the left side of the card, line up a straight edge along the fold of the card.

 *Fan out the rest of your pieces, making sure to cover the top and side of your card- no white spaces.  Also make sure to cover your line at the bottom. 

*Adhere your bottom piece, embellish and voila!  

**This card uses the embossed cardstock from Dream pop, Cricut Artiste shape, A True Thank You stamp set- colored in Cotton Candy, Lagoon & Creme Brule markers, black shimmer trim and bling buttons.

This Spring, STARBURST cards have popped up ALL OVER!!!!  I finally sat down to make one (or a whole bunch) and they're oddly addicting!  

Here's the first one I ever did:  

I used the Clementine paper pack and Clementine Canvas Compliments for this card.  I made it on a Die Cut card. 


First, here are the steps to take....
*Cut 1.5" x 5.5" strips of patterned paper (double sided is best).
*Take strip and turn it in your cutter so that it's diagonal.  Line up opposite corners along your cut line and CUT.  Now you have 2 diagonal strips

*Mark the center of your card base.

 

*Mark where your bottom piece of paper will lay (it will cover the bottoms of your strips).
 

*Take 2 of your diagonal strips, and lay them STRAIGHT sides next to one another, adhere.  

 
 

*Now, fill in the rest of your diagonal strips.  It doesn't matter whether you line them up straight sides to the left or right. 
 

*Adhere your bottom cardstock/paper over the points of your strips.  
 

*Cut off the excess at the top of your card.  

 
*Stamp, embellish and VOILA!  

 
**This card uses the embossed cardstock from Dream pop, Cricut Artiste shape, A True Thank You stamp set- colored in Cotton Candy, Lagoon & Creme Brule markers, black shimmer trim and bling buttons. 


And here's the one that I made for my daughter's 5th Birthday:

Here I found as many PINK papers as I could:  Chantilly, Dream Pop, Lucy & Stylin.  I added the Colonial White ribbon at the bottom, and stamped Happy Birthday with Say it in Style.  I used Opaque Pearls to make the "5".

My team has all arrived, we are so excited to start the FIRST DAY of Convention!  This is a BIG DAY!  We get to hear ALL the new and exciting announcements about product AND we get a copy of the Autumn Winter Idea Book :)

Today I want to share with you the gift I made for my team this year!  AND I'll share with you (again) the gifts I have given my team over the past couple years :)

I know you've seen these CHUNKY NECKLACES all over the place.  I started seeing them about a year ago and thought they were silly (for kids and adults).  Last month my daughter turned 5 years old.  While looking at birthday ideas, I came across a couple chunky necklaces and thought they would make a cute gift for her.  Then I decided to make them as party favors for the (4) girls at her family party.  

AND SO THE OBSESSION BEGAN!

This is NOT my first attempt at jewelry making, so I bought my supplies and got started.  This was the necklace that the girlies got as party favors:



Somehow in the process of planning for pink necklaces, I decided to make them for my team as well.  I think they turned out super cute and I have already been wearing mine!!!

Today I want to share with you the pillow box and tags I created for my team's gifts.  I will share the gift tomorrow (once EVERYONE is here!!)

I used the Art Philosophy cartridge to cut the pillow box at 8".  I used paper from Spellbound (retired) and Dotty For You (retired), along with some red glitter cardstock.  I added a strip of paper from For Always, some Black Shimmer Trim and some red washi tape I had on hand.  


 
The tag was also cut from Art Philosophy at 2 1/2".  I added paper from Giggles & Grins (retired), along with a Mickey Head cut from the Black Glitter Paper from Mickey & Friends cartridge.  

The tags were attached using various ribbons from my stash, Neutral Embroidery Floss and Neutral Bakers Twine.

My team will have the pleasure tonight of attending the BIGGEST AND BEST TEAM PARTY OF THE YEAR!!!!  We are a part of the Dream Team!  Our amazing ultimate upline- Karen Morris (my 3rd upline) is the hostess!  
The theme this year is Mardi Gras!  We were challenged to create a mask, using CTMH product and BLING!!! 

I was going with the Disney theme here:

I found a basic mask template online, cut it out in red glitter paper.  I added Silver Glitz Glitter Glue around the eyes and some sparkles on the sides of the eyes.  The top is a mickey hat, cut from black Glitter Paper.  I added some old organdy ribbon on the side, along with a silver glitter paper star.  The "handle" is popsicle sticks covered in black shimmer trim.  I added my team logo on the hat, blinged out with Red Glitz Glitter Glue.

It may not look like it in the picture, but it doesn't get much blingy-er than this!  Glitter & Glitz Galore!

Last week I had a class that made scrapbook layouts with DREAM POP!  

Here are some of the layouts we created:

This one uses base pages from the Dakota Paper Pack.  I added a pennant banner at the top of the left page and strip journaling.

This layout is for my niece's album (slowly plugging along through her first year!).  I added stamped flowers from Hello Blooms, Perfect Fit Frames and Monogram E.  

This layout was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest HERE.

Cruise Layouts- Part 2

It has been a while since I showed you the first set of layout from the CTMH Southern Caribbean Cruise.  To be honest, I have not even finished them yet.  I probably have 3 more of the pre-made ones from CTMH to complete still. 

However, here are the remaining FINISHED layouts:

In my last post (HERE), I showed you the Cruise Earners, and our first two stops- St. Croix and St. Kitts. 

Our 3rd Stop was Dominica.  That day, we decided to to a river tubing adventure with a big CTMH group.  The tubing photos are still on that disposable waterproof camera waiting to be developed (YIKES!)  But after that, about half of our group headed to a waterfall hike. 
This layout features LOTS of stamped flowers, rock n rolled in two colors, creating my own background.  

Our 4th stop was Grenada.  There we hired a driver to take us all over the island- so much fun! 

I had to mix it up a little with this layout, after stamping 100's of flowers already!  So I created my own patterned paper using the Honeycomb stamp set. 

This fun day needed a second page :)   And really, I could do a third too ;)  This was the page, where all the stamping and cutting did me in for a while.  But the clusters of flowers, fish and sand dollars are really awesome!

Our last stop was the beautiful island of St. Thomas.  My hubby and I took a scenic tour of the island, stopping at some beaches along with mountain top views.  We were able to see both sides of the island and all its beauty. 
For this layout, I added some stamping from the Surf's Up Workshop on the Go stamp set.  I still need to add my journaling to this one. 

I have a scrapbook class coming up this weekend, so if I have all the rest of my projects finished, I'll work on some more of these layouts.

Today I have a card that I made for my cousin's baby shower to share with you.  My cousin is a HUGE fan of sea life- specifically TURTLES.  So her baby boy's room theme is of course Turtles!  I knew I wanted to use the stamp set from the retired Footloose workshop, and thought that Surf's Up would go great too!


I also used stamps from Party Pennants, Sweet Baby, Friendship Alphabet small, Chocolate Alphabet small, Urban Alphabet , Surf's Up Workshop kit,

How fun is this little footprint stamp??  Goes well with the baby theme I thought!

I also worked on the Workshops on the Go Kit with Surf's Up for my upcoming class.  I swapped out a couple of the papers, and here's my result :)

Stampers with an Attitude Blog Hop- Fun in the Sun

Welcome to the Stampers with an Attitude Blog Hop!  Our theme today is FUN IN THE SUN!

If you came here from Cat's Blog, you're on the right track.  The Stampers with an Attitude are all excited to show you a little Art with an Attitude, so here we go.

Yesterday, here in Fresno CA, it was a record high of 109!  It was also our first official day of summer vacation.  Way to welcome summer.  We beat the heat by swimming several times throughout the day.

My ideal way of beating the heat, is to head out to the California Coast- Pismo Beach, Monterey, & Santa Cruz are our go-to spots.

This layout is one that I have wanted to create BEFORE I even took the picture!  I scraplifted a layout in the 2012 Spring/Summer Idea Book.  I had this layout in mind when taking pictures of my kids last summer at the Santa Cruz Beach.  ((Do you do that too?  Take pictures for a specific layout or even papers??))





I used Juniper, Cotton Candy, Colonial White & Kraft Cardstock along with stamps, distressing and embellishments for this layout.  I stamped the wave border, shells and umbrella with Kick Back (retired) and stamped the flowers with the Southern Caribbean Cruise stamp set.  I used the Stubble Texture tool to give my cardstock a "sandy" look and to distress the edges of everything.  I added some burlap ribbon- love using this for texture too.  My title was created with my new Cricut Cartridge - When I was a Kid (Beach) along with Color Ready Canvas Alphabet.  I cut a journal piece from Art Philosophy to record the details.
