CTMH-- March Stamp of the Month Blog Hop- Floral Happiness

Welcome to the Close To My Heart Stamp of the Month Blog Hop for March 2013- featuring Floral Happiness Floral Happiness, a set of 16, is perfect for using the 2-step stamping techni que!    If you have come here from KATY'S BLO G , you're on the right path.  If you get lost along the way, you'll find a complete hop list at Helen's Blog! This stamp set is not typically "my style", but I challenged myself to stamp the flowers for this month!  I love how they came out! My card today is based on the Mojo Monday Sketch #282 .  I used the die-cut shaped cards as my base.  First I used Honey ink to stamp the flowers in a cluster at the top of my card.  I stamped the solid image in second generation, then they detail on top in full color.  I used some black shimmer trim along the bottom left and paper from For Always .  I used the new Joyful Birthday set for the sentiment.  I added some black t...

CTMH-- Easter Wishes for Mojo Monday

I'm back again with another card for Mojo Monday!   This time I have created an Easter Wishes Circle Card. I used the CTMH 4 1/2" circle cards in White Daisy, Chantilly Papers , & Easter Wishes Stamp Set I stamped the image of the Chick inside the Egg in Black ink, then used my CTMH alcohol markers to color him!  I used Creme Brule, Cotton Candy light, Sky light and Sweet Leaf. I finished him off with some black bitty sparkles for his eyes :)  I added a flourish stitched with our Paradise Bakers Twine in Creme Brule.  Then I added a Hollyhock scalloped circle to the inside  of the front of the card (to hide all the stitching).  Here's the Mojo Monday Sketch #282   that I used: I did another card with this sketch.... you'll have to wait until the 1st to see that though :) It's crazy to think that Easter is almost here, but it is!  Guess I should get my Easter Decor out.....

CTMH-- Make it From Your Heart Layouts

I am a HUGE FAN of ALL of Jeanette Lynton's how-to books!   I have been using them for over 6 years and they never get old! Make if From Your Heart is the newest edition (and cheapest too!).  This one is super cool because it has a little of everything.... It has 16 two-page layouts, 2 single-page patterns and 12 card patterns!  It's only $7.95- what a steal! I created the layout that is found on the cover of the book (hard to see): This layout was the cover page of my niece's First Year Album: And I loved it so much, I created one for the first picture of my daughter with my niece! Products used Grey Wool, Baby Pink, Hollyhock & White Daisy Cardstock Sparkle flourish Chocolate large Alphabet Whisper, slate, baby pink, Hollyhock, Creme Brule, White Daisy cardsock Pearl Flourish Chocolate Large & Friendship small Alphabets

CTMH-- Sketch Challenge Cards

I'm back with THREE cards created for more challenges!!! I came across Deconstructed Sketch over the weekend and decided to make a card for the challenge!  Gnarly Birthday! While creating my layout for the Later Sk8r workshop , I thought the skater image would make a cool card!  I used the Later Sk8r papers, Later Sk8r assortmen t & stamp set .  The sentiments are stamped with Card Word Puzzle . Here's the Deconstructed Sketch # 89 I also found " The Sweetest Thing " card sketch site this weekend and got to work on their Sunday Sketch.  My first card: I used CTMH's new Chantilly paper pack and Chantilly workshop stamp set and Chantilly Assortment for this card.  I was unsure what to do with the pie shaped stamps, but they worked perfect with this sketch :)  For the sentiment, I used the March Stamp of the Month- Floral Happiness .  I stamped on the inside as well "having you as a friend". Second Card: This sketch ...

CTMH-- LOVE For Always

This month, my scrapbook group will be working with the FOR ALWAYS kit !   This LOVEly kit is AWESOME!  If you know me, you know I'm a black, white & pop of color (usually RED ) kind of girl!  Well, For Always was made for me :) For my first layout- I wanted to use the Workshop guide, but the colors were not doing it for me (or my pictures really).  So I found a picture & photo booth strip of my hubs and I and I knew just what colors to use :)   I used Pacifica as my base cardstock and swapped out the patterned paper that the layout called for.  I LOVE the result! I'm entering this into the Love is in the Air challenge at Heart2Heart :) Here's the Workshop on the Go Layout: How about a Studio J layout with For Always!  These pictures are fresh from our cruise- on the formal night (which happened to be my birthday!) Couple things I did here: *I created a "washi tape" look by creating a text box, resizing it,...

CTMH-- Canvas Art Home Decor

CTMH has a super cool new Home Decor Workshop in the Spring Summer Idea Book:  the Canvas Art Workshop! When I first got this kit, I was excited to make the canvas shown. But then I saw that there was so much extra chipboard.... what to do????  I thought I could use our new 6x6 canvas and make a small buddy canvas with it.... Well a fellow CTMH sister ( Fancy Melissa ) created a second 12x12 canvas project and I decided that was what I would do too!  I copied the canvas shown above: And for the second, I used a 12x12 I bought at Michaels.  I taped off stripes and painted with Create A Shade Pearl Paint mixed with bamboo and chocolate reinker.  On this one I used Christmas pictures.  I gave this one to my mom as a Thank You for staying with the kids while hubby and I cruised the Caribbean!  She LOVED it!!!  (This is the best pic I got before she took it- sorry) Check out this video to see another idea for using the Canvas Art W...

CTMH-- New Product Blog Hop-- Calendars for Kids

Welcome to the Spring/Summer New Idea Book Blog Hop Many of my fellow CTMH sistas have come together once again to showcase NEW PRODUCTS from our amazing Spring Idea Book!  If you have come here from Maureen's Blog , you're on the right path.  If you get lost along the way, you'll find a complete hop list at Helen's Blog! Today I want to show you a project I created as soon as I got my new product!  I made 2013 Calendars for my kids!!!!  Using 8.5 x 11" white cardstock, and a Free Printable from Tomcat Studio , Later Sk8r Paper pack for Tyler's Calendar and Chantilly Paper Pack for Allison's-- these Calendar's came together pretty quickly!  Each kid's calendar uses most of a paper pack, and I had to add some additional cardstock as well.  I wanted them to be flat, so the kids could write on them, so there are no embellishments.  For the Monthly pages, I cute a piece of cardstock at 7.75 x 10.5" to leave a border, and s...
