CTMH--- A Little Thanks SOTM Blog Hop

Welcome to the Close To My Heart Stamp of the Month Blog Hop for November 2010! All artwork on the hop will feature November's A Little Thanks, a set of 16 stamps! If you have come here from Kimberly's Blog you are on the right path. This month we have  about 70 CTMH Consultants sharing their SOTM creations, and other great CTMH artwork. Hopping along is fun and simple to do - just click the link at the end of each blogger's post to move to the next one!  Be sure to leave some love (comments) along the way :) This month, I have created a card to share with you!  I found this card sketch some where and fell in love with the simplicity of it!  I used the Magnifique paper pack along with "Follow your Heart" the stamp set that comes in the Workshop on the GO (or Kit of the Month as I like to call it).  Very simple card to show gratitude :) Supplies: Magnifique Kit of the Month Follow your Heart A Little More Thanks C...

CTMH-- Studio J- Majestic Blue + Magic

Here is the most recent Studio J Layout that I've created!  I used an older paper pack, Majestic Blue!  I recall a very special layout that I created of my son and I a couple years ago with this paper pack.  I'll have to pull that out to show you sometime.... This new pattern from the Magic book intimidates me, I think its all the paper strips.  Sure was easy to use in Studio J though :) Left side:  Bathing Beauties- how cute are they! Right side:  August calendar layout- pictures from our beach/camping trip What have you created with Studio J lately???

CTMH-- Studio J- Same Pattern, Different Layout

I am continuing to use Studio J to create my calendar layouts! One page is my calendar layout, and the other is just a page for my general album.  I inadvertently used the same pattern on two different months layouts- but look how changing up the papers can make a huge difference: February- Left side is the Calendar layout Animal Cookies papers, added black cardstock. September:  Left side is the Calendar layout I really wanted to use a "rainbow" of colors for this layout, so I chose Tinkerin'.  But on in one photo, Allie's shirt was purple, so I was able to change the color of the paper to match the colors I was looking for (the purple and the red papers below) Tinkerin Paper For the last 3 years, I have created scrapbooked 12x12 calendars for both sets of Grandparents as well as for myself.  The first 2 have been traditional scrapbook layouts- where I was not able to fully embellish.  NOW- my new and improved calendars created with Studio J are fu...

CTMH-- Studio J- Perfect Day + Magic

I am knee deep in packing boxes, and painting rooms in preparation for our move to our NEW HOUSE!  We bought a house after almost a year long search, then wait on answers on a short sale.  We closed escrow last week :-) Even though I have not done a whole lot in my craft room (other than prep for classes), I am still able to scrapbook via Studio J! I created this layout earlier this week:  I thought that Perfect Day went perfectly with these swimming pictures! And the pattern is exclusive to Members! Tips- * I used a sticker border on the left page in between the bracket and my picture.  * I used the stipple brush to create a speckled effect on the cardstock base. * I substituted a picture for the journal box on the lower right side. * I edited my pictures in Studio J to brighten some of them up. * I used the "Place kit alphabet area" feature to separate each stickease letter and then I was able to make some of them larger.  Remember you can try ...

~*~Spooky Blog Haunt~*~

Welcome to the Paper Secrets Spooky Blog Haunt. I have made a couple Wall Art projects to share with you today! This Witch wall hanging was super easy to create!  I took a 9x9 canvas and Mod Podged some newspaper clippings right onto it.  Then I painted the edges black.  I used the "A Child's Year" cricut cartridge to cut the witch out at 7".  I Mod Podged that on top and voila!  30 minute project!! Supplies: 9x9 Canvas Newspaper CTMH Black Cardstock Mod Podge Cricut:  A Child's Year This HALLOWEEN Wall art is a 12x12 scrapbook page that could easily be framed or attached to a canvas and displayed on the wall or mantel!  I cut 2x2 squares of patterned paper and arranged them in a slightly messy pattern.  All edges were inked in black.  I used some Blackboard Chipboard by Cosmo Cricket for the letters.  This project came together very easily as well!  Supplies: Prima patterned paper Cosmo Cricket Blackboard chip...

Kids Handprint Wall Art

We are moving at the end of the month and I've been on the lookout for fun, creative artwork for my kid's playroom.  I came across something similar, somewhere in blog land.  I took a 16x20 canvas (wish it was larger) and painted it black.  Then I cut out 4x4 and 5x5 squares of white cardstock.  I painted my sons hands in rainbow colors and "stamped" them on the larger squares.  Then painted my daughter's hands in the bright and fun colors and "stamped" them on the smaller squares.  This was the arrangement I came up with!  The squares are just adhered with foam tape.  I hope they stay up there!!  I thought having some personalized artwork would not only be fun, but something to treasure too :-) What do you think???

CTMH--- Studio J & Traditional Layouts- Blue Ribbon

When it comes to scrapbooking, traditional (paper, scissors, adhesives etc) is the way for me.  But I'm not afraid to mix in some digital goodness with Studio J ! I wanted to show you an example of BOTH!   Here's my traditional layout.  Created using a sketch from my friend Kari .  I used some of the scraps I have left from the retired Blue Ribbon paper kit.  If you are ever sad that your favorite paper kit is retired.... hope on over to Studio J and it will probably be there for your unlimited use :) Here's my Studio J layout also using Blue Ribbon.  The first page is my calendar page for July and the second is the match to the traditional layout above.  So when they go in my album (eventually), I'll have a traditional layout right next to a Studio J layout.  I bet you no one knows the difference once in the album!   Be sure to check out Studio J 's memberships while you're creating your next Studio J layout!
